At 3:11 AM EDT on Monday, October 20, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began experiencing service interruptions, which resulted in Webcourses@UCF (Canvas) and integrated applications becoming unavailable. WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW? At 7:17 PM EDT on Monday, October 20, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and our Vendor (Instructure Canvas) resolved the service interruptions and implemented a fix. Users may still briefly experience slow load times as access to Webcourses@UCF (Canvas) and integrated applications return to normal functionality. WHO WAS IMPACTED? Students, Faculty, and StaffWHAT DO I NEED TO DO? Faculty – You may need to adjust due and until dates for assignments, quizzes, and discussions that were due during the incident window. Instructions for adjusting assignment due dates can be found in the “How do I bulk update due dates and availability dates as an instructor?” Guide. Students – Please check your courses’ announcement areas for messages from your faculty, as well as the To-Do List for date changes for assignments, quizzes, and discussions.
