PAL6000

The Center for Distributed Learning’s newest faculty development program for online courses, PAL6000, is now available to IDL6543 graduates or OFRA-certified instructors who wish to design and facilitate an adaptive course using Realizeit at UCF. PAL6000 is designed to provide information related to pedagogical, logistical and technical aspects of teaching adaptive courses.

IDL6543 Prerequisite

IDL6543 must be completed before enrolling into this program. If you have not yet completed IDL6543, discuss your interest with the chair of your program.

PAL6000 is a self-paced course offered every semester. Participants must complete the required activities to obtain a Certificate of Completion and a PAL credential to be able to teach adaptive courses using Realizeit.

Activities include meetings with their instructional designer, online course readings, and completion of their chosen projects.

Course topics include:

  • Pedagogy for adaptive courses
  • Technical and logistical issues
  • Course delivery strategies
  • Course building in Realizeit and Canvas
  • Information unique to teaching adaptive courses at UCF
