DIY in the FMC

Work in the FMC with our software and computers to create immersive and engaging virtual tours.

Extended Reality (XR)

This term encompasses both AR (Augmented Reality) as VR (Virtual Reality). These content distribution methods allow for a variety of advantages, and disadvantages. The biggest challenge for all faculty is locating relevant content for their disciplines. Let the FMC help you with that. While we do not have 3D modelers on staff, we can search out existing content with you.

Virtual Reality (VR)

Virtual Reality immerses the user into a virtual environment and experience using a VR headset. Examples of Virtual Reality are Beat Saber and Space Engine.

Augmented Reality (AR)

AR is the melding of the real and virtual worlds. Using either translucent screens or cameras showing the real world, an overlay is added giving the user information layered upon the physical world. Examples would include the Microsoft HoloLens and X-Real glasses.
