Because engaging in a course review demonstrates that you are continuously improving the learning experience for your students! If your online or blended course is designated as Quality (Q) or High Quality (HQ), you will receive: A digital emblem displayed within your online or blended course An acknowledgement letter from the Assistant Vice Provost of the Center for Distributed Learning Eligibility to apply for the Dziuban Award for Excellence in Online Teaching Eligibility to apply for the Truman Award for Excellence in Blended Teaching “I was inspired to add more activities to promote student interaction.” “The accessibility of my course was greatly improved.” “The review resulted in better navigation for students.” – UCF Faculty Participants Designations are valid for up to five years from the date of the initial designation. Substantial revisions to a designated course may necessitate re-designation. Courses with Quality designations may request re-review for High-Quality at anytime. Process and Eligibility The Instructional Design team offers course quality consultation and review for eligible instructors teaching in a variety of online modalities. These reviews apply evidence-based criteria to assess how well the course aligns with best practices in digital teaching and learning. 1 – Prepare Meet with your instructional designer to support readiness before undergoing a formal review for designation. Submit your request for a quality consultation to get started. You can also review the Quality Rubric in advance. 2 – Review Trained quality reviewers will use the Quality Rubric to review the course and provide feedback as applicable. If adjustments are needed to earn a designation, your instructional designer will work with you on these revisions. 3 – Designation Your course will be officially desig-nated as Quality or High-Quality for five years with all associated benefits. This includes a letter for your dossier and eligibility for awards. You may also display the quality emblem in your course.
