Learning Content Production

Beth Nettles, Ph.D.

As Manager for Learning Content Development, Dr. Beth Nettles has functional oversite of the Instructional Development (iDev), CDL Graphics, and Video@CDL teams at the Center for Distributed Learning (CDL). Beth has created a number of professional development resources designed specifically for faculty teaching online courses and managed the Teaching with Lecture Capture (TLC) courses. She routinely presents the work of CDL to colleagues at other institutions and at professional conferences. Dr. Nettles has also provided project management services for several university-wide initiatives such as UCF’s most recent learning management system migration (from Blackboard to Canvas), the Knights Online orientation to online learning, and the tactical implementation of UCF Online.

Beth has over twenty years of experience teaching programming, software applications, and web technologies in post-secondary education. Dr. Nettles holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology in Education from the University of Nevada, Reno; an MA in Instructional Technology and a BS in Business Administration from UCF.

Jonathan Pizzo

Jon Pizzo is the Manager of Multimedia Services at the Center for Distributed Learning. He oversees the day-to-day operations and logistics of the instructional development team. Jon is responsible for supporting and overseeing the production of livestream events hosted by the division and managing the division’s web space. Collaboratively with his team and various project teams, he supports and helps build the communication strategy and infrastructure for the Center for Distributed Learning, including faculty-focused communications and social media initiatives.

Jon holds a B.S. in Information Technology from UCF and has been with the Center for Distributed Learning since 2009. Starting as an Assistant Instructional Designer, he later joined the instructional development team full-time in 2013 and later took on a leadership role within the team in 2020. As a native Floridian, Jon enjoys fishing, visiting local beaches, tailgating UCF home games (Go Knights!), kayaking, camping, and exploring the US on frequent road trips.

Dylan Yonts

Dylan holds a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television Production from the University of Central Florida. From 2014 until 2022 Dylan was the Operations Manager for the Broadcast Production Facility at the Nicholson School of Communication and Media at UCF. He now manages the Faculty Multimedia Center at UCF, a space designed to empower and train faculty on how to use innovative technology and media in their courses. 

Aaron Hose, MFA

Aaron Hosé has spent the past 25+ years creating award-winning films and videos. He has produced, directed, shot, and edited a wide range of projects, including documentaries, commercials, educational media, tv and web series. His work has screened at hundreds of film festivals around the world and has been distributed on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Tubi.

Aaron has been recognized with multiple industry awards and honors. He has received 12 regional EMMY® Awards among 25 nominations, for his excellence in Producing, Directing, and Editing. He holds a BA in Liberal Studies and an MFA in Film from the University of Central Florida, as well as a degree from the Valencia College Film Technology Program. He currently serves as Lead Video Producer at UCF’s Center for Distributed Learning, where he creates engaging audio and video content for online education.

DiJai Dowling, M.A.

DiJai is the Online Faculty Development Coordinator in the Center for Distributed Learning at the University of Central Florida. With over 13 years of experience in various roles across higher education, she brings a deep commitment to student engagement, faculty support and instructional innovation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Policy from the University of Central Florida. Outside of work, she is an avid reader who enjoys diving through pages of a good book and spending time with her family.
