New Features

Below are some features that have been released in the last year in both Zoom and Panopto. We’ve curated some of our favorites to share with you! Ensure you have updated to both the latest versions of Zoom and Panopto access all the new features.

New Features in Zoom

  • Add your pronouns!  You can now add your pronouns in your profile settings in Zoom.
  • Share screen to all breakout rooms: When sharing screen in the main session, the host or co-host can share their screen to all active Breakout Rooms. Any active sharing in the breakout sessions are interrupted and any annotation or whiteboard use prompts the sharer to save them before viewing the shared screen from the host.
  • Post Meeting Survey: You can now configure a post-meeting survey to launch at the end of a meeting.
  • Focus Mode: Enabling focus mode makes only the host and cohost video and their shared content appear to participants. All other participant videos will not be viewable by anyone in the meeting except the hosts and cohosts. Besides the host, co-hosts, and participants spotlighted by the host, participants in focus mode can still see their own video but only see other participants’ names, their nonverbal feedback or reactions, and hear them when unmuted.

New Features in Panopto

  • Panopto Capture: You can record videos from the browser without having to download any recordings software or application!
  • Multi-language captioning: Captions can be available in a variety of different languages.
  • New Mobile App: The mobile app for Panopto has been upgraded! This tool is great for managing your recordings or recording on the go.
