Who Can Enroll in Training?

All open labs and workshops are available to faculty, staff and teaching assistants at UCF. Use the form at the bottom of this page to register.

UDOIT

An introduction to UDOIT, the Universal Design Online content Inspection Tool built in to Webcourses@UCF, is available during any Open Support Lab. If you would like a one-on-one UDOIT introduction or a small group introduction for your program or department, please fill out the custom workshop request below.

Open Support Labs

Open labs provide an opportunity to work on your online courses and ask questions of support staff if needed. Come any time during lab hours (we recommend arriving no later than 30 minutes before the end of the lab).

Communicating with Students

Review in greater depth the methods available for communicating with students in Webcourses@UCF: Announcements, Calendar, Chat, Conferences, Discussions, the Inbox (Conversations), Conferences, and the Syllabus.

Student Groups

Review how Groups function in Webcourses@UCF, elements that impact communicating with and grading student group assignments. We will also touch on Collaborations in this session.

Managing Content

Review Importing content, course navigation, controlling access to Files, tracking Page versions, as well as organizing and publishing content in Modules and Module Settings, including Requirements and Prerequisites. We will also discuss Publishing Courses and Quizzes.

Assignments and Grading

Review how to create Assignments and Quizzes, create and apply a Rubric, grade Assignments using the SpeedGrader, and how to control display of grades to students by Muting Assignments.

Build a New Course in Webcourses@UCF

This workshop is for instructors who are building a new course in Webcourses@UCF. This hands-on session will cover the basics of setting up a course, navigation, and using basic tools. Other topics include tips and suggestions for working with your course, using the Syllabus feature, and publishing the course. Length: 2 hours
