Captioning and live-transcriptions is enabled by default in all UCF Zoom accounts. Hosts will still need to enable the live auto-transcription during the meeting. While live transcription is not 100% accurate for accommodation purposes, it does provide fairly reliable captions and will make your meeting more accessible for all of your students. Student Accessibility Services will contact you when captioning as an accommodation is necessary for equal access. Live Transcription and Breakout Rooms Live transcription is not available in Breakout Rooms. Enable Live Transcription as a Host As live transcription is enabled by default for your account, you can use this feature during a meeting. During a Zoom meeting, click the Live Transcript button in your Zoom toolbar. Click Enable Auto-Transcription.As you begin to speak, captions will appear at the bottom of your screen.Click the small upwards-facing arrow on the Live Transcript button for more options, including:Hide Subtitles: Disable the captions on your own screen. This does not affect the participant’s ability to view the captions.View Full Transcript: Open the full transcript in a sidebar.Subtitle Settings: Change the appearance of your personal captions. View Live Transcript as a Participant Participants will only be able to view the live transcript if the host has enabled the feature. If the host has enabled live transcriptions, a notification saying “Live transcript is available” will appear on the screen.Click the Live Transcript button in the Zoom toolbar to view the live transcript.Click the small upwards-facing arrow on the Live Transcript button for more options, including:Hide Subtitles: Disable the captions on your own screen.
