The Chat tool in Webcourses@UCF allows students and teachers to interact in real time, all in one place. Chats cannot be limited to specific students.
Use Chat to:
- Give students an opportunity to immediately contact you when you are online
- Conduct group discussion
- Conduct study sessions
Please note that all users in the course can also access the chat history. Chat messages may be deleted by the Teacher.
For this reason, we do not recommend using Chat for online office hours intended to discuss student grades and performance, as this would constitute a potential FERPA violation. The most secure method for discussion student grades and performance is the Inbox/Conversations tool in Webcourses@UCF.
