Add a Custom Link to the Course Navigation Menu

If you have a website your students frequently visit, you can add it to your course navigation menu using the Redirect Tool. The Redirect Tool allows for a more seamless navigation within your course when external web resources are required.

Some examples for Redirect Tool uses include:

• Creating direct access to an eTextbook
• Providing top-level navigation to an external website that will be used often in class

Install the Redirect Tool

1. Click on the Settings tab in the course navigation menu.
2. Click on the Apps tab.
3. Locate the Redirect Tool, depicted by the icon below.
   
   
4. Click on the Add App button.
   
   
5. Configure the app settings in the popup window that appears.
   
   • Name: This is the name that will appear in the course navigation menu.
   • URL Redirect: This is the URL that users will be navigated to.
   • Show in Course Navigation: Toggle this option to add this tab to the course navigation menu.
6. Click the Add App button.
7. Refresh the page to view the next course navigation menu tab.
