Convert HTML Files to Pages


Converting your old HTML files into Webcourses@UCF content pages provides more flexibility for editing content for your online course. HTML files cannot be edited in Webcourses@UCF.

Convert an HTML File to a Page

  1. Log in to your course.
  2. Navigate to the HTML file which you would like to convert.
  3. Copy all the content on the page by doing the following:
    1. For PC users: CTRL+A to select all content, then CTRL+C to copy the content.
    2. For Mac users: Command+A to select all content, then Command+C to copy the content.
  4. Navigate to Pages to create the new content page.
  5. Click View All Pages.
  6. Click +Page.
  7. Enter a title for the page.
  8. Click anywhere in the blank text field and Paste the content you have copied by doing the following:
    1. For PC users: CTRL+V.
    2. For Mac users: Command+V.
  9. Click the Save Changes button.

Replace an HTML File with a Page in Your Course

Next, you need to add the newly-created content page to your module and remove the old HTML file.

  1. Click the Modules tab in the course navigation menu.
  2. Navigate to the module to which you wish to add the new content page.
  3. Click the + button to the far right of the module name.
  4. In the following drop-down menu, select Content Page. A list of available content pages will appear in the list.
  5. Select the page you created.
  6. Click the Add Item button. Notice that the new page has been added to the bottom of the list of module content.
  7. Remove the old HTML file by clicking on the gear icon gear to the right of the item.
  8. Click the Remove button.
  9. Confirm the deletion by clicking the OK button.

Conversion Requests: If you have multiple HTML files that need to be converted, you can also contact Webcourses@UCF Support for assistance. They can put in a request to have all or specific HTML files converted to Pages for you.
