Converting your old HTML files into Webcourses@UCF content pages provides more flexibility for editing content for your online course. HTML files cannot be edited in Webcourses@UCF.
Convert an HTML File to a Page
- Log in to your course.
- Navigate to the HTML file which you would like to convert.
- Copy all the content on the page by doing the following:
- For PC users: CTRL+A to select all content, then CTRL+C to copy the content.
- For Mac users: Command+A to select all content, then Command+C to copy the content.
- Navigate to Pages to create the new content page.
- Click View All Pages.
- Click +Page.
- Enter a title for the page.
- Click anywhere in the blank text field and Paste the content you have copied by doing the following:
- For PC users: CTRL+V.
- For Mac users: Command+V.
- Click the Save Changes button.
Replace an HTML File with a Page in Your Course
Next, you need to add the newly-created content page to your module and remove the old HTML file.
- Click the Modules tab in the course navigation menu.
- Navigate to the module to which you wish to add the new content page.
- Click the + button to the far right of the module name.
- In the following drop-down menu, select Content Page. A list of available content pages will appear in the list.
- Select the page you created.
- Click the Add Item button. Notice that the new page has been added to the bottom of the list of module content.
- Remove the old HTML file by clicking on the gear icon gear to the right of the item.
- Click the Remove button.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking the OK button.
Conversion Requests: If you have multiple HTML files that need to be converted, you can also contact Webcourses@UCF Support for assistance. They can put in a request to have all or specific HTML files converted to Pages for you.
