The Tegrity President Award (April 2012), given to Dr. Joel Hartman, UCF’s vice provost of Information Technologies and Resources. The award is in recognition of exemplary vision and leadership through successful implementation of Tegrity at UCF. Tegrity is a division of McGraw-Hill Higher Education.
Sloan Consortium Frank Mayadas Leadership Award (2011) presented to Dr. Joel Hartman, UCF’s vice provost of Information Technologies and Resources. The Sloan-C judges credited Hartman “with transforming the University of Central Florida (the second-largest U.S. university) into one of the most innovative and progressive educational environments in the country.” UCF News story available here.
Sloan Consortium Effective Practice in Online Education Award (2011), presented to UCF for its Online Faculty Readiness Assessment initiative. UCF also received three Effective Practice awards in 2008, and one in 2007.

Sloan Consortium Conference Best-In-Track Awards, Two awards at the Blended Learning Conference (2012), and one award at the International Conference on Online Learning (2010).
The Communicator Awards, Honoring Excellence in Marketing and Communications (2011) recognized UCF’s Level 2 productions with 2 awards at the level of Excellence and two at the level of Distinction, all in the category of Film/Video – Education.
Sloan Consortium Excellence in Online Teaching Award. Awarded to UCF Faculty member Dr. Glenda Gunter (2010), UCF Faculty member Dr. Susan Wegmann (2009), and Dr. Charles Dziuban, Director of UCF’s Research Initiative for Teaching Effectiveness (2005).
Telly Awards for Excellence in Video Production (2011, 2009, 2006). UCF’s Level 2 Productions has been recognized numerous times with awards in the in the Education category.

The Sloan Consortium’s Inaugural Gomory Award for Quality Online Education (November 2008). UCF received this award for an institution that demonstrates continuous improvement of the quality of online learning, as measured by access, learning effectiveness, cost effectiveness, student satisfaction and faculty satisfaction.

Joel Hartman Wins EDUCAUSE Leadership Award (June 2008). Dr. Joel L. Hartman, vice provost for Information Technologies and Resources at the University of Central Florida, was named recipient of he 2008 EDUCAUSE Leadership Award. Hartman was chosen by the EDUCAUSE Recognition Committee for his efforts in advancing learning technologies, developing education and research networks, and leading statewide and national information technologies organizations.
EDUCAUSE Teaching and Learning Award for Online Program (October 2005). Awarded to UCF in recognition of major improvements in campus teaching and learning through the innovative and sustainable use of information technology.

Sloan-C Excellence in Online Teaching and Learning (November 2003) An award for Excellence in Online Teaching & Learning Faculty Development was given to the University of Central Florida for its Faculty Development Initiative. The Sloan Consortium, known as Sloan-C, is an association of more than 400 universities and institutions involved in advancing the use of online learning in higher education.

Excellence in Distance Learning Program Award – United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) (March 2000) Provost Gary Whitehouse accepted an award on behalf of UCF from the United States Distance Learning Association for excellence in distance learning programming within higher education. The award recognizes UCF’s comprehensive approach to support faculty and students engaged in distance learning.
APQC-SHEEO Faculty Development Award for Teaching with Technology (November 1998). The University of Central Florida was named as a best practice for faculty development in the use of technology. A seven-month benchmarking study was conducted by the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC) and the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO).
